Government sets ECITB levy until 2019

The Industrial Training Levy (Engineering Construction Industry Training Board) Order 2017 was made on 28 March 2017, and it came into force on 29 March 2017.

The Order was made under the Industrial Training Act 1982, and it sets the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB) levy until the end of 2019. The Order accords with the ECITB’s recommendation for slightly lower levy rates for site-based and other workers.

The ECITB levy, and the levy imposed by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), have been subject to more attention than usual recently, because of the government’s new apprenticeships levy, which comes into effect on 6 April 2017.
